What's new

VBA's October 2026 Veterans Benefits Newsletter says more than 4.6 million Veterans use the VA Health and Benefits app. Veterans can now view lab results and manage VA benefit overpayment debts in the app.

What you can do in the app

  • Check your claim or appeal status and your disability rating.
  • Submit evidence for your claim or appeal. Take a clear photo or attach a file. Check the claim afterward to confirm VA received it.
  • Download common VA letters, such as your benefit summary letter.
  • See lab results and VA vaccine records, refill prescriptions, send secure messages and check appointments.
  • Manage overpayment debts. Review what VA says you owe. If you get a debt letter, read our VA debt letter guide before you pay or dispute it.
  • Review payments and update direct deposit.

Your VA notes and labs are evidence. See why your VA doctor's notes are evidence and getting private records into your claim.

Only use the official app

  • Get VA: Health and Benefits from the Apple App Store or Google Play using the links on VA's official app page. Don't download it from texts, emails or ads.
  • Sign in only with your own Login.gov or ID.me account. Never give your login or codes to anyone, including "claim helpers."
  • The same newsletter warns about phishing, spoofing and direct-deposit redirection fraud. If a payment is missing or something looks wrong, call VA at 800-827-1000.
  • Need help with the app? Call 800-698-2411 (TTY: 711), 24/7.
